Finally as we all know now, Murcia-San Javier airport closes to commercial flights the 14th of January and and the new Murcia airport at Corvera,  will open on 15th January 2019.

Aeropuerto Internacional Región de Murcia will be the new name and will appear under the airport code RMU on all flight listings.

Corvera airport will be an international airport and as such will be bigger and offer more facilities and services, volume at this new airport will be double the capacity of the old airport , which will remain as military

2 companies has already announced routes from UK, Easyjet and Jet 2, it is expected that Ryanair will also fly into here.

Hotels  / Complexes near this new site, such MOSA GOLF, CORVERA, LA TORRE HOTEL… so far, have been regenerating and improving ahead, ready for the opening . Although the new airport is not the only factor behind this, the improve of  economic climate around Spain,  together with the potential growth in tourism,  have been attributed to this. This has also lead to an increase in interest from property buyers and investors, some of which have been renovating and redeveloping  around this area.
